BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — Keyser took third in a four-team match with Bridgeport, Elkins and Preston at Bridgeport Country Club on Thursday.
Bridgeport took first shooting a 163, followed by Elkins (175), Keyser (176) and Preston (178).
Sophomore Braylen Blowe was the highest-placing Keyser golfer, shooting a 42 to take fifth. Bridgeport’s Alexander Randolph was the low medalist with a 34, the Indians’ Audrey Kerr and Elkins’ Kendrick Smith tied for second at 37, and Preston’s Robbie Lowe was fourth at 40.
Keyser’s other highest-placers were Ryan Pratt and Caleb Blacka, who were both eighth shooting 44s, and Monk Garland ended tied for 12th with a 46.
Keyser, Frankfort and Southern play at the Oakland Country Club on Monday at 4 p.m.
Frankfort’s Moorehead shoots 68
KEYSER, W.Va — Frankfort’s Bryson Moorehead shot an 18-hole 68 at Polish Pines on Wednesday, two shots behind nationally ranked Tommy Evans of Washington.
Evans, a junior who is the top-ranked golfer in the state, won the West Virginia Junior Amateur Championship at Canaan Valley Resort this summer, besting West Virginia University signee Jack Michael by two strokes.
More statistics from the round, which was slated to have Frankfort, Hampshire, Jefferson, Petersburg, Washington and Keyser in attendance, were not reported.
