NORTHERN ADIRONDACK 25
PERU 8
PERU — It’s always the first one you remember. For the Bobcats, in their first season of flag football, the team will remember their first program win for a while.
It just happened to occur at the Apple Bowl in a 25-8 victory over Peru.
After an 8-8 tie at the half, NAC would pour on 17 points in the second half to pull away to secure the win.
The Nighthawks didn’t go quietly.
Team captain Addi Cayea routinely blitzed and came within inches of numerous sacks of the Bobcats’ QB.
Peru’s Nyla Capen worked from the pocket and connected numerous times to her receiving core. She found connections with Ruth Patche, Abby Phillips and Keny Contessa.
Patche was on the receiving end of the touchdown in the first half, with Contessa catching a two point conversion.
Nighthawk head coach Kaitlynn Williams named Keanna Wheatley defensive MVP, as she had 13 flag pulls and one interception.
Teammate Siobhan Edwards was a close second with 7 flag pulls.
