DANVILLE — A Danville juvenile has been arrested on charges of armed robbery.
According to a release from Sergeant Andrew Brooks of Danville Police Criminal Investigative Division, a victim of a robbery at gunpoint in the 600 block of W. English Street entered the lobby of the Public Safety Building around 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Members of the Danville Police Department Street Crimes Unit launched an investigation after speaking with the victim. The suspect was positively identified as a juvenile and around 7 p.m. an officer with the patrol division located the juvenile nearly the intersection of Griffin and Mabin streets. The officer recovered a firearm from the juvenile and placed them into custody.
The juvenile was was booked on armed robbery charges.
Brooks noted that all suspects are considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
