MANKATO — An accidental gunshot at a Mankato apartment in 2023 led to recent guilty verdicts against a man accused of firearm-related offenses.
The jury found Rashad Lamont Burch, 39, guilty of firearm possession, ammunition possession and controlled substance possession violations Friday in Blue Earth County District Court. Burch was prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition due to a previous conviction.
A criminal complaint states the case against Burch started after a woman accidentally shot herself in the leg at the apartment in March 2023. Police went on to find ammunition and gun parts in the apartment, as well as suspected cocaine, and reportedly linked them to Burch.
