MCHENRY — Jorjalynn Ward recorded a second half hat trick, scoring all three of Garrett’s goals in a 3-0 win over Frederick on Tuesday.
Ward opened the scoring at the 50 minute mark off an assist from Jacquelyn Jeffreys.
Ward converted a penalty kick at the 63 minute mark before securing the hat trick at the 78 minute mark.
The Lakers (1-1) led in shots 20-9 while the Cougars (1-2) led 3-1 in corners.
Gabriella Lindblade finished with eight saves for Frederick while Kayla Moore earned six for Garrett.
The Lakers play at Hagerstown on Thursday.
Potomac State 2, CCBC Catonsville 2
CATONSVILLE — Potomac State and Catonsville played an evenly fought game that ended in a draw on Tuesday.
Each team attempted nine shots while the Catamounts (1-3-2) led 5-1 in corners.
Lynnea Clark and Eva Ochoa scored for Potomac State, both on unassisted goals.
Clark’s was at the 28:14 mark of the first half while Ochoa scored at the 87:40 mark of the second half.
Gianna Barracato scored both goals for the Cardinals (1-3-2), opening the scoring at the 5:09 mark of the first half and at the 48:13 mark of the second half.
The Catamounts host Hagerstown on Saturday at noon.
