THOMASVILLE — The term has ended for Mary Margaret Quiggle serving as president of John B. Gordon 383 UDC chapter. The gavel has been handed over to Sheila Tucker. Installation of new officers was presented by Quiggle. As she gave a description for each officer’s job, she presented them with a writing pen decorated with red and white ribbons. The pen represented how each officer could use their new pen to support the chapter while performing their duties.
The new officers are: Sheila Tucker (President), Dorothy Maxwell (Vice President), Mary Margaret Quiggle (Secretary and Treasurer), Anita Ward (Registrar), Joan Cooper (Historian), Dianne Ponder (American Patriot Award and Recorder of Military Services Award), Charlotte Brown (Parliamentarian), and Jinanne Parrish (Chaplain).
Committee Chairmen are: Charlotte Brown (Newsletter), Susan Futch (Georgia Day), and Penny Gaskins (Jefferson Davis Highway).
The UDC Objectives include: Historical, Educational, Benevolent, Memorial, and Patriotic. Holding an office will involve these important objectives.
The newly elected officers for John B. Gordon 383 UDC chapter will have a meeting during the summer to plan for a new term of programs and projects.
