IPSWICH — They survived COVID, and they survived the heat this weekend as Ipswich High School graduated 134 seniors.
Ipswich High held its graduation ceremony in the Jack Welch Stadium behind the school Sunday morning.
With the clicking and jingling of medals as each student crossed the stage to receive their diploma, the graduating class is noteworthy for its academic achievements: of 134 graduates matriculating Sunday, 73 — more than half — did so with academic distinctions. Another 34 crossed as members of the National Honor Society.
The ceremony included remarks from salutatorian Natalie Whitten, honors addressee Emma Casella, and valedictorian Ella Niederhelman, a young star of journalism writing for the Ipswich Local News.
