Members of the Cumberland County Finance Committee were at the courthouse Thursday to interview Kevin Smith, one of seven candidates for the Cumberland County finance director position.
Smith, however, notified the county that he was unable to make the interview.
Thursday’s interviews included Aaron Elmore, Michael Cole and Brandon Phillips.
The panel will reconvene Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 7:45 a.m. to hold interviews with Jennifer Turner, Maria Richardson and Nathan Clouse.
Following the final interview, the panel will discuss next steps in the process to find a new finance director following the retirement of Nathan Brock, who served in the role for 35 years.
