Stories of Norse gods and variety of Viking-themed activities are slated June 13-14 at McGowan’s Farm, 20002 Hawkeye Lane.
The second annual Great Northern Viking Festival offers a weekend of entertainment and educational demonstrations.
Day passes cost $8-$25. Children ages 7 and younger do not need tickets.
The festival includes a 21-plus event, A Night in Valhalla, June 13.
June 14 is a designated Family Day that will focus on programming and hands-on activities for children.
Camping at the site is limited to pass holders who make advance arrangements.

Free produce available
Fresh fruit and vegetables will be available for pickup once a month, thanks to a free program provided by Second Harvest Heartland and St. Peter Area Food Shelf.
The free produce will be distributed between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Wednesday from the parking lot at First Lutheran Church, 1114 W. Traverse Road. There are no income limits for recipients.
Distribution dates at the same site are slated 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. July 8, Aug. 12, Sept. 9 and Oct. 14.
MS150 bikers to use local base
Bike MS participants this year will start out June 13 from Nicollet County Fairgrounds in St. Peter. Bicyclists in the MS150 Minnesota ride will be participating in a fundraiser/awareness event sponsored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The organization has an ambitious $2.75 million fundraising goal for this year’s ride.
More than 3,000 riders are expected to take part in the 150-mile regional ride that concludes at St. Peter.
