South Central College plans an open house 1-6 p.m. Thursday on its North Mankato campus, 1920 Lee Boulevard. The event is part of Minnesota State Week events being celebrated by state colleges and universities throughout Minnesota.
The open house will provide opportunities to tour the campus, explore SCC’s different program and degree options and receive information about the college’s student services.
Attendees may enjoy refreshments during the open house.

Public asked to comment on transportation plan
Mankato/North Mankato Planning Organization representatives will discuss transportation improvement plans during an open house 4-6 p.m. Thursday in the Minnesota Valley Room of the Intergovernmental Center, 10 Civic Center Plaza.
MAPO’s 2026-2029 Transportation Improvement Plan is a schedule of projects set to receive federal funding over the next four years.
The plan may be reviewed online and members of the public may provide input through July 18 by going to: mnmapo.org.
Petting zoo visit set
Ponies and pigs are among the animals from a rural Pemberton farm slated for a visit 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Blue Earth County Library, 100 E. Main St.
The free event is for people of all ages.
Hasse Family Mobile Petting Zoo brings farm animals to a variety of events in the region. Animals in an enclosed and sheltered walk-in pen.

Self-guided cemetery tours available
Blue Earth County Historical Society is offering four “Stones & Stories” self-guided cemetery tours at four locations in the county. Each tour introduces participants to a dozen or more people and their stories behind their headstones.
Hybrid tours are available through Oct. 15 and feature Lake Crystal Cemetery, Glenwood Cemetery, Minneopa Cemetery and Mankato’s Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
