Infant death under investigation in Mankato
MANKATO — Authorities are investigating the death of an infant following an emergency response Wednesday afternoon.
First responders were dispatched to a residence at 520 James Avenue just before 4 p.m. for a report of a non-breathing infant, according to city-issued press release. CPR was initiated at the scene, and the infant was transported by Mayo Ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, where they were later pronounced dead.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting in the ongoing investigation and no further information has been released at this time.
