CUMBERLAND — Allegany County Republicans chose three Board of County Commissioners incumbents to advance to November’s general election.
According to Maryland State Board of Elections unofficial results Tuesday, of 30 precincts reported in the primary election, early voting and Election Day results showed commissioners Dave Caporale with 3,257 votes; Bill Atkinson with 2,550 votes and Creade Brodie Jr. with 2,540.
They were among seven Republican candidates who competed for the board’s three open seats.
Candidates Seth Bernard got 2,029 votes, Leona McTaggart 1,332, Dee Dee L. Ritchie 2,227 and David Alan Robison 985.
Democratic candidates Chelsea Boor received 1,459 votes, and Carol Taccino 1,209.
The three Republicans and two Democrats will face Kit Pepper Lescallette, an unaffiliated candidate, in November’s general election.
Results of mail-in ballots for the primary have not been tallied.
Due to the July 3 federal holiday, local election officials have until July 6 to certify election results.
