Nick DiFelice, the HVAC teacher at the Niagara Career and Technical Education Center, loves hearing about his students’ successes.
One success story is Starpoint graduate Branden Farnham who points to Mr. DiFelice’s leadership for his current position at DWC Mechanical. Dave Cloy of DWC Mechanical said Branden is doing very well in the year that he has been employed there. “We love having him and as a former BOCES student myself, I really enjoy watching the successes from students that come out of the HVAC program. We have multiple former students, with excellent careers with us at DWC. It’s a great testament to the program!”
Branden started at the company when he turned 18 last August and since he has been at DWC he had gotten a raise and was upgraded to a company van.
“I really enjoy the job and the people I work with,” he said.
DiFelice is extremely proud of Branden. “It’s great to hear of Branden’s success. It’s always nice hearing from former students no matter what they end up doing in life. Hearing from a student like Branden, who secured a career before graduating and is successful within the trade is proof that what we do here, matters. During his senior year, Branden interned with DWC Mechanical. When he graduated and started his professional life, it was a smooth transition since DWC was familiar to him. It makes me feel good that I had a small part in it! I’m glad that he is doing well and enjoying what he is doing. There was never any doubt that he would excel at whatever he chose to do!”
