The Morris boys basketball team got off to a blistering start Thursday, scoring 42 points in the first quarter alone on its way to a 101-60 victory over Schenevus in a home Tri-Valley League game.
Tiger Ross led the offense with 31 points while four other Mustangs finished in double figures.
Ryan Murphy scored 18, Keegan Fraser scored 16, Carter Sawyer had 12 and Asa Dugan notched 11.
Murphy added 10 assists to record a double-double while Fraser added nine rebounds.
“It felt like we hit on all cylinders,” Morris coach Gerry Joy said. “It was the first time we’ve hit 100 points and I think the guys had a really good time doing it.”
For Schenevus, Jackson Reed had a team-high 22 points while Ethan Reed scored 10 and Lucien Kortekaas added eight.
Morris (12-5) will host Chenango Forks Monday while Schenevus is back in action Friday at home against Hunter-Tannersville.
Oneonta 66, Greene 59
The Oneonta boys took down Greene for a 66-59 non-league win on the road Thursday.
Brady Carr led the scoring with 18 points while Makya Morrison and Grayson Brockington scored 12 apiece, Britten Zeh scored 11 and Maddox Imperato added nine.
Joel Vielandi was Greene’s top scorer with 17 points.
Oneonta (8-7) will host Windsor Monday.
Cherry Valley-Springfield 44, Gilboa 43
Cherry Valley-Springfield held off Gilboa for a 44-43 non-league win at home Thursday.
CJ Hurley recorded a double-double in the victory for the Patriots, finishing with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Kris Cade added eight points and five steals.
Cody Ciaravino led Gilboa with 14 points while Ross Garrison notched eight.
CV-S will host Section II’s Northville Friday.
Delhi 83, Harpursville 26
Delhi rolled to an 83-26 home win over Harpursville Thursday in Midstate Athletic Conference play.
Ivan Richardson was the Bulldogs’ top scorer with 19 points while also adding seven steals.
Elsewhere, Angelo Krzyston notched 15 points and six rebounds, Seamus deMauro had 13 points and eight rebounds and Lucas Nealis scored 11 points.
Jayden Deleon led Harpursville with 14 points.
Delhi (13-3 overall, 9-0 league) will visit Unatego/Franklin next Thursday.
Unadilla Valley 53, Afton 49
Unadilla Valley defeated Afton 53-49 in a back-and-forth MAC contest Thursday.
Keegan Platt and Zach Smith led the way for the storm, scoring 18 points apiece in the win.
Ryan Wright scored a game-high 19 points for Afton while Equan Patterson added 15 points.
UV will visit Greene Tuesday while Afton hosts Sidney the same day.
