OGDENSBURG — OFA jumped out to a 2-0 lead early, but Plattsburgh shook off the rust to come away with a hard fought 10-6 win.
After the Blue Devils grabbed the lead, Lizzie Burnharm and Emilee Geiger both scored two goals each to give the Hornets a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
Geiger finished the day with four goals scored and two assists to lead PHS. Burnham added two assists to go with her goals.
Lily Forrence had two goals as Reese Gregoire and Marin Juneau had one goal each.
Fiana Connors was stout in net with 13 saves to help lead the Hornets to victory.
Plattsburgh turns around for a contest Monday, at home against Potsdam.
“Kinda what I expected with being off for 2 weeks and a 2.5 hour drive, we came out flat,” PHS head coach Alfie Ladue said. “Our goalie was able to keep us in it.
We responded in the second half and were able to get every one minutes which was great for the team moving forward. We have a busy schedule coming up but I believe we will be ready for the tough week ahead.”

PLATTSBURGH — Landon Delaronde did all he could in net to keep his team in the contest, while under constant pressure.
Canton defeated Plattsburgh, 16-4 and seemed to have control in every facet of the game.
The Golden Bears had a total of 55 shots as they maintained control of the ball from the opening whistle.
Canton built an 11-4 halftime lead and just kept the Hornets off balance for a majority of the contest.
Hayden Lozier, Killian Baker, Declan Baker and Nolan Miner scored goals for the Hornets.
“Canton is a well-coached team, who was looking to exact revenge for our win last year,” PHS head coach Doug Collyer said. “Our team is still young and making young mistakes that cost us goals. Layden Delaronde stood tall in the cage and kept this from being an even bigger differential.
“We need to get more possessions and stop turning the ball over. The talent is just under the surface, we just need to find a way to put it all together.”
