ELIZABETHTOWN — Jackson Hooper poured in 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in Boquet Valley’s 67-59 win over Keene on Wednesday in Mountain & Valley Athletic Conference basketball.
Maddox Rice added 14 points and Ben Burdo 10 for the Griffins, who held a 36-28 halftime lead. Rice also had nine rebounds.
Asa Sprague tossed in 22 points for Beavers. Peter Robjent was next with 19 and Vann Morrelli added 10.
“It was a very tough game,” Boquet Valley coach Colby Pulsifer said. “We would stretch the lead out a little and Keene would find a way to trim it back down to a couple of points.
“We were able to take care of the ball and hit our free throws to close the game out.”

CROWN POINT 71
CHAZY 61
CHAZY — The Eagles battled the Panthers to the end, but had no answer for Trevor Harris who scored 38 points.
“I thought our boys played a phenomenal game of basketball right up to the end,” Chazy coach Austin Tetreault said. “It’s a loss in the book, but it’s a game where we feel we can turn around our season at the correct time.
“Crown Point, as they do with every team, came out and played hard basketball and we showed we have no problem handling that. I thought Trevor Harris played a great game for them. He is an amazing player who knows how to get things done for his team.”
The contest was tied early in the fourth quarter before the Panthers were able to take advantage of Chazy foul trouble, with Evan Dwyer, Zamir Foster and Dylan McAfee all fouling out.
“Unfortunately for us, foul trouble in the fourth quarter ultimately is what swung the game against us,” Tetreault said.
Reese Pertak added 13 points for Crown Point.
McAfee led the Eagles with 22 points, while Connor Cross had 12 points, Foster 12 rebounds and Dwyer a trio of three-pointers.
“Overall, we left this game with our heads high and a smile on our face knowing if we can see this team again in the playoffs, we’re ready for the challenge,” Tetreault said.

BOLTON 67
WILLSBORO 22
WILLSBORO — Jaxon Egloff tossed in 22 points, including four three-pointers, to lead the Eagles.
Liam Foy was next for Bolton with nine points and as nine players got into the scoring act.
Harvey Merrill and Avery Lee accounted for all of the Warriors’ scoring with Merrill getting 15 points and Lee seven. Merrill also had seven rebounds.
“Early foul trouble and a flood of turnovers was a recipe for disaster on senior night,” Willsboro coach Eric Arnold said. “We played a strong defensive first quarter, trailing by just one after one. But Merrill picked up his third foul early in the second and was forced to be bench, making offense very difficult to come by.
“A 26-point third quarter by the visitors blew the game open.”
