Coahulla beats Southeast during tri-match
Coahulla Creek (4-1) beat Southeast Whitfeld (0-4) as part of a tri-match Thursday, while both teams fell to Gordon Lee (4-0).
Creek beat Southeast in two sets, winning both 25-14. Against Gordon Lee, Creek lost the first set 25-14 before winning the second 25-23. Gordon Lee earned the tiebreaker set 15-13 to take the match in three sets. Gordon Lee beat Southeast in two sets, 25-5 and 25-10.
Against Southeast, Alyce Norton led the way with 11 kills and five assists for Creek, while Katie Hambright and Jelleny Mallozzi both had nine assists.
Against Gordon Lee, Norton had 10 digs, six kills and four aces, while Mallozzi had 10 assists and Hambright had nine.
Coahulla plays Sale Creek on Thursday, while Southeast plays Saturday.
Christian Heritage splits tri-match
Christian Heritage (2-1) went 1-1 in a Thursday night tri-match.
The Lady Lions knocked off Oakwood Christian (2-2) in two sets and fell to Heritage (4-0) in two.
Against Oakwood, Christian Heritage won the first set 25-21 and the second 25-22. Carly Bramlett had 12 digs, eight kills and two aces. Kate Regal has 13 digs, and Taylor Horne had nine digs.
Heritage won 26-24 and 25-12. Regal had nine digs, and Taylor Horne had eight digs. Devyn Leach had five kills, and Jadyn Horne had three kills and five digs. Kristen Michmerhuizen had three kills.
Christian Heritage plays a tri-match with Dade County and North Murray on Tuesday.
Sonoraville 2, Dalton 1
Dalton (2-1) took Sonoraville (2-2) to three sets before falling two sets to one Thursday night.
After Dalton won the first set 25-17, Sonoraville struck back with a 25-17 win of its own in the second. Sonoraville took the tiebreaker 15-12.
Dalton hosts East Hamilton and Ringgold for a tri-match Tuesday.
