Middle hitters Carter Ye (five blocks, six kills) and Teddy Addesa (four blocks, five kills) each delivered monster performance as the No. 17 Golden Warriors upset No. 16 North Quincy 25-23, 25-20, 25-21 in the Division 1 Round of 32.
Marco Gomez Cabo tallied 40 assists — giving him 2,131 for his career, seven away from the school record — four kill and eight service points. Noah Chanthaboun added 26 digs and four assists and Griffin Connell dazzled with 14 kills, four digs and four blocks. Assistant coach Dan Young also played a key role with his scouting for Andover, which will await the winner of Saturday’s matchup between top-seeded Needham and Weymouth.
Salem 3, Winnacunnet 2
The No. 11 Blue Devils upset the No. 6 Warriors in the first round. Salem will now face rival No. 3-seeded Windham on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Goffstown 3, Pinkerton 2
The No. 7 Astros pushed No. 10 Goffstown to the limit, before falling 25-27, 25-14, 25-23, 23-25, 15-11 in the first round. Senior middle blocker James Butts finished with a single-game high seven blocks to go along with three kills. Junior outside hitter Kaden Layne led the team with 23 kills, and Ben Koelb dished out 37 assists.
Longmeadow 3, Greater Lawrence 0
The No. 28 Reggies (11-9) fell to No. 5 Longmeadow in the Division 2 Round of 32.
Girls Tennis
Andover 5, Braintree 0
The Golden Warriors (17-2) rolled in their tourney opener, with victories going to Sonika Chaudhary (6-2, 6-1), Mia Thomas (6-0, 6-0), Hila Berman (6-1, 6-0) and the doubles teams of Elysia Yu and Caitlyn Croll (6-2, 6-0) and Celeste Miner and Anyaa Munot (6-3, 6-1). No. 11 Andover will next travel to No. 6 Newton South. Time and date are TBA.

Boys Lacrosse

Ryan Tighe scored six goals and added four assists for No. 15 Central Catholic (10-8) in the Division 1 Round of 32. Conor Shanahan (two goals, three assists), Ethan Mitchell (three goals), Chase Akstin (two goals) and Luke Faletra (two goals) had multi-goal games, and Joe Buchanan was 24 for 26 on faceoffs for the Raiders, who will face the winner of Saturday’s matchup between Lincoln-Sudbury and Brookline.
