It came down to the super heavyweights Thursday, Dec. 18, as U/F/UV topped visiting Oneonta in a non-conference dual meet in Otego.
At 285 pounds, Nolan Boyles pinned Eli Baggy in the second period to win the match for the home team.
U/F/UV took an early lead on the strength of the light weights, but Oneonta rallied in the middle weights and took a 36-24 lead after three straight quick pins by Isaac Gray (158), Allen Little (165) and Lucas Weaver (175).
However, U/F/UV evened the match at 36 with two first-period pins by Caleb Wildenstein (190) and Yani Drapaniotis (215), setting up the rubber match at 285.

Jackson Crisman had a double double as Cooperstown won a Center State Conference Division III game in Sherburne on Thursday.
Crisman scored 26 points, a varsity high, and had 13 rebounds. He previously varsity best was 18 points, Jan. 13 against Hamilton.
Miles Nelen scored 18 points for the Hawkeyes, which also got 14 points, seven steals and four assists from Christian Lawson.
Cooperstown led at halftime, 44-18.
Joey Tomsic scored nine points to lead Sherburne-Earlville (3-3, 1-2).
Cooperstown (4-0, 2-0) plays Saturday, Dec. 20, at Faith Heritage.

Walton/Downsville 39
Carter Swayer scored a game-high 17 points as Morris beat host Walton/Downsville in a non-league game Wednesday, Dec. 17, in Walton.
Morris led at halftime, 28-23.
Chris Caffery scored 16 points, Lucas Rice scored nine points and London Gardner scored eight points for W/D.
Ryan Murphy scored 15 points for Morris (5-1), which is at Madison for a non-league game Monday, Dec. 29.
Walton/Downsville (2-3, 1-0) hosts Chenango Forks for a non-league game Monday, Dec. 22, in Downsville.

Boston Quarino scored 14 points as the Rams won a Delaware League game Wednesday in Davenport.
Cole Whitbeck scored 11 points to lead the Wildcats.
Jackson Hudson scored 12 points for SK/A, which also got nine points from Parker Popp and seven points from J.B. Trimbell.
Simon Cowles scored nine points and Cooper Wald scored eight points for Charlotte Valley (2-4, 0-1).
South Kortright/Andes (2-2, 2-0) plays in the Unadilla Valley Tournament on Saturday, Dec. 27.

Pat Terk had a game-high 21 points and Max Eisel had a double double as host Stamford/Jefferson won a Delaware League game over W-A-J in Jefferson.
Eisel scored 15 points and had 11 rebounds. Gavin Vanetten scored nine points for Stamford/Jefferson (3-2, 2-0).
Payton Dempsey scored 12 points for Windham-Ashland-Jewitt (2-3, 0-1).

Jenevie Gallusser had a team-high 16 points, but Oneonta lost a Southern Tier Athletic Conference game at home Wednesday.
Tiffani Schaefer scored 16 points to lead Chenango Valley, which also got 14 points from Amelia Paske.
The Yellowjackets held CV to just three first-quarter points, but trailed at halftime, 21-17.
Ella Harper scored nine points for Oneonta (1-3, 0-1), which hosts Owego for an STAC game Friday.
Deposit/Hancock 41,
Laurens/Milford 30
Ivy Tice scored 13 points to lead host Deposit/Hancock to a non-league over Milford win Wednesday in Deposit.
Lexi Sutphin scored 12 points to lead L/M, which also got eight points from Kelsey Cox and seven points from Zoie Stanley.
Olivia Esolen scored 12 points for Deposit/Hancock (2-4, 0-1).
Laurens/Milford (2-3) plays Margaretville in the first round of the Stamford Christmas Tournament on Monday, Dec. 29.

Brinlee Wright scored a game-high 23 points as Charlotte Valley/Schenevus won a Tri-Valley League game on the road Wednesday, topping previously undefeated Sharon Springs.
Peyton Barbic scored 15 points and Zarie Barbic scored 11 points for Sharon Springs (6-1, 0-1).
Jordan Odell scored 13 points, and Claire Clark scored 12 points for Charlotte Valley/Schenevus (6-0, 1-0), which hosts Worcester for a TVL game Friday, Dec. 19.

McKenna Hoyt had a triple double as Stamford/Jefferson won a non-league game Wednesday at Greenville.
Hoyd scored 28 points, had 20 rebounds and also made 10 assists.
Tierney Turner had 27 points and 11 rebounds for S/J, which also got 11 points and 10 rebounds from Rose Bevilacqua.

Cassidy Johns and Aiden Carter had high series for Greene/Oxford in a bowling sweep of host Deposit in a pair of Midstate Athletic Conference matches Wednesday at Hancock’s Fox Bowling Center.
Johns rolled a 162-167-187 (516) to lead the G/O girls. Danica Fowlston rolled a 480 total.
Sabrina Dermitt rolled a 143-152-152 (447) to lead Deposit.
For the boys, Carter rolled a 228-207-196 (631) series to lead G/O.
Eliot Dermitt rolled a 167-135-181 (483) to lead Deposit.

Mia Pelcer had 14 kills as Cooperstown won a Center State Conference Division II match at home Tuesday against previously undefeated Sauquoit Valley, 14-25, 25-11, 26-24, 25-23.
For Cooperstown (2-1, 2-1): Hayden Merwin had four aces, 10 digs, and 23 assists. Jensen Merwin had 15 digs. Chloe Jubar had 11 kills.
Kaylyn Dreidel had 23 assists and Afton Sherman had 12 kills for Sauquoit Valley (5-1, 3-1).
