Cooperstown 57, Morrisville-Eaton 34
Emma Johnson had a game-high 29 points as host Cooperstown won a Center State Conference Division III game against M-E on Monday, Feb. 2, at Red Bursey Gymnasium.
Cooperstown held the Mavericks scoreless in the first quarter, and led at halftime, 35-8.
Johnson also had 15 rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Lanie Nelen scored 13 points for the Hawkeyes, which also got 11 points from Deanna Wolfe and four points, six rebounds and three blocks from Sophia Johnson.
Mikenna Broadel scored 10 points to lead Morrisville-Eaton (4-11, 0-6).
Cooperstown (4-13, 4-3) hosts Sherburne-Earlville in a division game Thursday, Feb. 5.

Section III Championships
Cooperstown won a Class C/D title Sunday, Feb. 1, at the Section III Championships at AMF Strike & Spare Lanes in Mattydale.
“The boys rallied together and were able to come in first place for C/D class size schools,” Coach Braedy Sickler said. “They also came in second place for Section III Division II and since they placed in the top four for Division II, they advanced to the afternoon session to battle head-to-head for the state’s qualifier spot. As the second seed, we bowled against the third seed, Beaver River. It was a race to three points. Unfortunately, our journey ended there, Beaver River beat us 0-3.”
Cooperstown will compete in the Center State Conference Tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 4.

Center State Conference Tournament
Max Pelcer won a title at 132 pounds as Cooperstown/Milford placed seventh in the Center State Conference Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 31, at Sherburne-Earlville Center School.
Host S-E won the conference title with 262 points, 38.5 better than second-place Little Falls. Cooperstown/Milford had 79 points for seventh in the nine-team tournament. Mount Markham placed sixth with 93.5 points.
Pelcer went 3-0 with a pin and two majority decisions. He beat Adirondack’s Jonah Sturtevant in the finals, 23-10.
Thomas Geertgens placed second at 157 pounds. He went 2-1 with two pins, losing 8-4 in the finals to Justin Race from S-E.
Rowan Brown went 3-1 and placed third at 118 pounds. Matt Duszynski went 2-2 and placed fifth at 215 pounds.
Cooperstown/Milford will compete in the Section III Class D Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 7, at South Lewis Center School.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Worcester 55, Richfield Springs/Owen D. Young 38
Conner Land scored 15 points, all on three pointers, as Worcester won a home game against RS/ODY on Saturday.
Owen Oldick scored a game-high 20 points for the Eagles, which also got 12 points from Finn Dibble.
Derek Land scored 10 points for the Wolverines.
Richfield Springs/Owen D. Young (3-11, 2-6) hosts New York Mills for a non-league game Wednesday.
Worcester (9-5, 5-3) hosts Milford for a Tri-Valley League game Friday, Feb. 6.

Landon Wust scored a game-high 18 points as host Edmeston won a non-league game Saturday against the Storm.
Denzel Peter led UV with 13 points, and Preston York scored eight points.
Braymon Clark scored 16 points for the Panthers, which also got 10 from Sire Champen and eight points from Hunter Dye.
Unadilla Valley (0-15, 0-7) plays a Midstate Athletic Conference game against Walton/Downsville on Tuesday, Feb. 3, in Walton.

Tyler Reed scored a game-high 14 points as W/D upset host Unatego/Franklin in a Midstate Athletic Conference game Saturday in Otego.
The WarEagles led at halftime, 24-14.
Xander Johnson scored 11 points to lead U/F, which also got 10 points from Brock Birdsall and nine points from Joe Sargent.
Ethan Hall scored 12 points for W/D, which also got 11 points from Lucas Rice.

Gabby Seamon scored a game-high 21 points as the Eagles won a non-league game Saturday in Edmeston.
Brenna Bolton scored 13 points to lead E/M, which also got nine points from Elle Nichols.
Hailey Butler and Issy Seamon each scored eight points for RS/ODY, which also got seven points from Hailey Hosford.
Edmeston/Morris plays a Tri-Valley League game Tuesday at Worcester.
Richfield Springs/Owen D. Young (10-5, 6-1) hosts Gilboa-Conesville/Roxbury for a non-league game Tuesday.

Mia Pelcer had 10 kills, but Cooperstown lost a Center State Conference Division II game to visiting Clinton, 24-26, 25-19, 22-25, 23-25, on Saturday at Red Bursey Gymnasium.
Carlotta Falso had seven kills and four aces for Cooperstown (12-3, 6-3).
Clara Shaw had seven kills for Clinton (7-11, 3-7).
Both teams await Section III playoff seedings.

Brady Carr had a team-high 18 points, but Oneonta lost a Southern Tier Athletic Conference non-division game at C-PP on Friday.
Nolyn Proudfoot scored a game-high 27 points for C-PP.
Maddox Imperato scored 17 points for the Yellowjackets, which also got 14 points from Mason Chard and 13 points from Greg Brockington.
Oneonta (12-3, 4-0) will play a STAC non-division game Wednesday at Waverly.

Ben Schnabel scored a game-high 27 points as the Bulldogs won their 10th-straight game with a Midstate Athletic Conference victory Friday at Oxford Academy.
The Bulldogs led at halftime, 49-16.
Lucas Nealis scored 15 points and had four steals and four assists for Delaware Academy, which also got 10 points from Teddy Kelsh.
Schnable also had six assists.
Gordon Smith scored 15 points for Oxford Academy, which also got 12 points from Nic Dodzweit.
Delaware Academy (12-3, 7-1) will host Owego Apalachin in a non-league game Saturday.

Rashad Kiel scored 12 points for U/F, which also got 11 points from Joe Sargent and 10 points from Levi Russell.

Tyler Reed topped 1,000 varsity points for W/D, but host Sidney won a Midstate Athletic Conference game Friday.
Grady Loeffler scored 13 points to lead the Sabers, which also got eight points from Deon Taylor.
London Gardner scored 15 points to lead the WarEagles.
Reed is the sixth boy basketball player from Downsville to score 1,000 points.

Caden Laymon scored a team-high 21 points and had 14 rebounds, but the Patriots lost a non-league game Friday at Brookfield.
