Thursday Results Softball
Oneonta 13, Waverly 3
Jenevie Gallusser had a home run, a double and five RBI as Oneonta won a Southern Tier Athletic Conference non-division game at Waverly on Thursday, April 23.
Gallusser went 3-for-5 and also scored three runs.
The game was close until a six-run sixth inning by the Yellowjackets.
Carley Mistler got the win, allowing five hits and three walks while striking out three batters. She also scored three runs.
Taylin Gonzalez took the loss, striking out seven but walking three and allowing 11 hits.
Kylie Carr went 3-for-4 for Oneonta, with three runs scored an RBI. Kendall LeFever went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored. Logan Jipson went 2-for-5 with a run scored.
Oneonta (9-2, 3-1) plays a non-conference game at Pittsford Southerland on Saturday, April 25.
Delaware Academy 6, Harpursville 2
Eighth grader Kinsley Tracy got her 100th varsity strikeout and the win as host Delaware Academy beat Harpursville in a Midstate Athletic Conference game Thursday.
Tracy had eight strikeouts overall.
Payton Garcia had two RBI for Delaware Academy (6-1, 4-1), which hosts Edmeston/Morris for a non-conference game Saturday.
Baseball
Cherry Valley-Springfield/Sharon Springs 8, Northville/Wells 5
Caden Laymon had two RBI and also got the pitching win as CV-S/SS won a non-conference game against Northville/Wells at Cooperstown’s Doubleday Field on Thursday.
The game was back and forth until CV-S/SS scored five runs in the fourth inning.
Ascher Jorgensen also had two RBI for Cherry Valley-Springfield/Sharon Springs (5-6, 2-1), which plays a non-conference game at Windham-Ashland-Jewett on Wednesday, April 29.

Derek Fronckowiak won at first singles as host Oneonta topped visiting Chenango Forks in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference non-division match Thursday at Wilber Park.
Fronckowiak won, 6-3. 7-5.
At second singles, Ethan Temming bear Justin Samson, 6-2. 6-2. At third singles, Anthony Iannelli beat Logan Hovancik, 6-2, 6-3. At fourth singles, Evie Chen beat Henry Hubbard, 6-4, 6-3.
At first doubles, Miles Gelbsman and Nico Iannelli beat Lucas Taylor and Landon Butenko, 7-5, 6-2. At second doubles, Jordan Fronckowiak and Ibraheem Khan beat Noah Gaddis and Braden Watson, 6-1, 6-1. At third doubles, Charles Fluck and Brighton Logue beat Chris Samson and David Hull, 6-0, 6-1.
Cooperstown 5, Hamilton 0
Henry Ayers won at first singles as host Cooperstown swept visiting Hamilton in a Center State Conference non-division match Thursday at The Clark Sports Center.
Ayers defeated James Hanmer, 6-2, 6-0.
At second singles, Alfred Hom beat Thaddeus Treffeisen, 6-1, 6-0. At third singles, Hayden Spencer defeated Dev Zhang, 6-0, 6-0.
At first doubles, Bianca Adam and Micah Raffo beat Elijah Meyers and Tyler Kowalski, 6-0, 7-5. At second doubles, Rigzin Gazan and Deanna Wolfe beat Anna Platt and Cole Borst, 6-2, 6-0.
Wednesday Results Softball
Charlotte Valley/Schenevus 6, South Kortright/Andes 5, 9 innings
Brinlee Wright became the Charlotte Valley career leader for strikeouts and also got a nine-inning win as CV/S topped SK/A in a Delaware League game Wednesday, April 23, in Schenevus.
Wright struck out 12 batters to break the school record of 515 strikeouts set by Jenna Lutz in 2016.
Wright had three hits and also scored the game-winning run, getting a single, then stealing three bases for the win.
Neleh Brown had three hits and three RBI for the Rams.
BASEBALL
Oneonta 12, Norwich 0
Brady Carr had three hits including a home run as host Oneonta beat Norwich in a Southern Tier Athletic Conference East Division game Wednesday.
The Yellowjackets scored nine runs in the first inning, including a two-run homer by Carr.
Chase Jervis got the win, combining with Trey Jervis for a two hitter.
Nolan Stark and Andrew Brechner each got two hits for Oneonta.
TENNIS
Cooperstown 4, Sauquoit Valley 1
Henry Ayers won at first singles as Cooperstown gave SV its first loss of the season in a Center State Conference Division I match Wednesday in Sauquoit.
Ayers beat Bryce Petteys, 6-3, 6-3.
At second singles, Alfred Hom beat Owen LoGalbo 1-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) in a match that lasted more than three hours. At third singles, Nathan Silchuk of Sauquoit defeated Hayden Spencer, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
At first doubles, Bianca Adam and Micah Raffo beat Layden Kravec and Celestin Nisse, 6-2, 6-3. At second doubles, Emmett Ayers and Rigzin Gazan defeated Gavin Ryan and Connor Hunt, 6-1, 6-3.
