Christian Heritage School avenged on Friday a 15-point loss to Chattooga, rolling over the visiting Lady Indians 60-40.
Annaka Hembree poured in 25 points for the Lions.
The win moved Christian Heritage to 8-3 in Region 7-A D1, which ties the team with Chattooga for third place behind Fannin County (11-0 in the region) and Armuchee (10-2).
Christian Heritage is 16-3 overall.
Hembree was the star of the night for the Lions but she got help from teammates Olivia Perry (12 points) and Carly Bramlett (10 points).
The Lions began the game with a good offensive start, building a 17-11 lead in the first quarter. Hembree scored seven points and Bramlett grabbed four rebounds in the first period.
Good defense by Christian Heritage harried Chattooga shooters into a poor effort. That helped the home team push out to a 29-17 advantage at halftime.
Chattooga played better in the third quarter and battled to within six points before eight points from Bramlett turned back the rally.
Hembree landed a trio of three-point daggers in the fourth quarter to help the Lions pull away.
Addie Veatch scored 12 points for Chattooga and Gracelyn Rutledge added nine.
Chattooga fell to 16-4 overall.
Christian Heritage is set to play The Dalton Academy on Monday (after deadline) and at Armuchee on Tuesday in an important region matchup.

Dalton High’s Lady Catamounts destroyed Region 7-4A opponent Woodland 75-3 on Friday. The win moved Dalton to 18-3 overall and 10-1 in region play. The Lady Cats should face a tougher challenge on Tuesday when Cass comes to town.
Murray County pushed its record to 18-1 overall and 10-1 in Region 7-2A with a pair of wins. The first was a 57-53 decision over region opponent Coahulla Creek. A day later the Lady Indians crushed non-region opponent Excel Christian Academy 67-18.
The Lady Indians will travel to Union County on Tuesday.
Friday’s game was the third straight region loss for Coahulla Creek. The Colts will try to snap that streak on Tuesday in a home game against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe.
North Murray (5-15, 1-11) suffered its worst loss of the season on Friday, falling 69-9 to Sonoraville. The Lady Mountaineers will play at Rockmart on Tuesday.
Northwest Whitfield (12-5, 5-3) whipped Adairsville 70-53 on Friday. The Lady Bruins will play Ridgeland at home on Tuesday.
The Dalton Academy fell to 0-17 overall and 0-11 in Region 7A D-1 after falling to Gordon Lee 61-7. The Pumas are scheduled to play Fannin County at home on Tuesday.
The Lady Raiders of Southeast played Allatoona on Friday. No score had been posted as of 9 a.m. Monday. The Lady Raiders entered the game with a 3-12 overall record and a 2-8 mark in Region 7-4A. They will host Cartersville on Tuesday.
