Boys Christian Heritage 82, Chattooga 52
Christian Heritage (1-0) opened its 2023-24 season with a 30-point win at home over Chattooga Tuesday night, knocking off the visitors 82-52.
The Lions were led by senior Jax Abernathy, who scored 21 points and grabbed six rebounds. Dontae Crowder scored 17 points and grabbed eight boards, while Isaac Plavich picked up 14 points.
The Lions host St. Francis on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Dalton 60, North Springs 39
Dalton (1-2) got its first win of the year on the final day of the Sprayberry Thanksgiving Tournament, defeating North Springs (0-6) 60-39.
Jermichael Craft led the way with 20 points for Dalton. Eli Burt scored 10, CJ Weaver scored eight, Drew Snyer had seven and Kobi Cooper added six.
The Catamounts host Sonoraville on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Murray County 70, Chattanooga School for Arts and Sciences 69
Late-game heroics led Murray County (2-0) over Chattanooga School of Arts and Sciences (1-2) 70-69 on Tuesday in the Ridgeland Thanksgiving Classic.
Parker Hawkins hit a 3-pointer with just 2.2 seconds left to tie the game at 69. Braxton Vineyard was fouled and made the go-ahead free throw with just 1.2 seconds left.
Vineyard led Murray with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Judah Woodall scored 15, while Hawkins had 13. Joseph Garland scored 12.
North Murray 73, McMinn Central 62
North Murray (4-0) defeated McMinn Central (3-1) 73-62 Tuesday at the Ray Tucker Tourney at Gordon Central High School.
The Mountaineers trailed 16-10 after a quarter but climbed back on top at halftime with a 31-29 lead.
North Murray hit 11 3-pointers in the game, with five apiece coming from the arms of J.D. Ellis and Beau Ellis. Beau led the game with 19 points, while J.D. scored 15. Judson Petty put in 10 points, and Garrison Pittman scored eight.
North Murray hosts Model on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Girls Christian Heritage 59, Chattooga 48
Christian Heritage (4-2) ran its win streak to four with a 59-48 home victory over Chattooga on Tuesday.
The Lady Lions dropped their first two games of the year, but have rattled off four straight.
Brooklyn Stallion put in 21 points to lead Christian Heritage, while Carly Bramlett scored 16. London Wagner hit a pair of 3-pointers and had eight points.
Christian Heritage hosts Armuchee on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Dalton 70, Adairsville 29
Dalton (2-1) powered past host Adairsville (1-2) 70-29 Tuesday at a Thanksgiving tournament.
Gracie Ridley led the Lady Cats with 15, while Emma Hefner scored 12. Cadence Blackwell scored 10 and Alexia Gonzalez and Wisdom Kent each put in seven.
Signal Mountain 59, Northwest Whitfield 44
Northwest Whitfield fell 59-44 against Signal Mountain on Tuesday.
A slow first quarter doomed the Lady Bruins, with Signal jumping out to a 25-4 lead. Northwest outscored Signal Mountain 40-34 in the final three quarters.
Kennedy Baker led Northwest with 15 points, while Sloan Pender scored nine. Miah Triana had eight.
Murray County 56, Ridgeland 35
Murray County (1-0) began its regular season slate with a 56-35 victory over host Ridgeland at the Ridgeland Thanksgiving Classic on Tuesday.
Skyler Mahoney had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Indians. Callan Ledford had 13 and Miley McClure scored 12.
North Murray 57, Central-Carrollton 33
North Murray (4-1) knocked off Central-Carrollton 57-33 Tuesday at Gordon Central’s Ray Tucker Tourney.
The Lady Neers led 16-8 after a quarter and 33-15 at half.
