As temperatures rose Tuesday, Good Harbor Beach’s parking lot filled up. By noon, the city said on its Facebook page that the lot was full.
Wednesday’s temperatures are expected to be in 80s, so the beach scene is likely to be similar.
Those lucky enough to get a spot didn’t have to pay as the city’s beach lots won’t be manned and reservations won’t be required until this Monday, Memorial Day, the unofficial beginning of the summer season.
Among those taking advantage were the Shute family, whose children put their bodyboards to good use.
Resident beach stickers, $20 or $5 for seniors, are on sale at the collector’s office at City Hall, 9 Dale Ave., or online at https://gloucesterma.portal.opengov.com/categories/1082.
