NH Division I First Round
Timberlane 1, Hanover 0 (OT)
In a thrilling and dramatic playoff game, junior Alli Harb nailed home the game winner — her 15th goal of the season — on a penalty kick coming just four minutes into the overtime period to lead the No. 7 seed Owls past the No. 10 seed Hanover.
Harb had been taken down a couple of yards inside of the ‘18 yard box.
“I was thinking how much I really wanted to come through for my teammates,” said Harb. “We worked really hard the whole game and deserved to win it. I just focused on putting it on net and hard to the corner. It was the best feeling seeing it hit the back of the net.”
Neither team could find the back of the net during the very physical 80 minutes of regulation.
“I thought our pressure against their attack was highlight for us throughout the game,” said head coach Jeff Baumann.
The coach added that senior Emma Norcott, Ella Lampron and Ava Stewart, as well as sophomore Alexa Ring, were all outstanding on defense.
Timberlane (7-6-4), the defending state champions, advance to Friday’s quarterfinal round to take on No. 2 seed Exeter (13-1-2) at 2 p.m.
Last week Exeter defeated Timberlane, 3-0, in a regular season game.
