Habitat for Humanity of the River Valley will host the “Carpenters for Christ” from Lindsay Lane Baptist Church for the framing and roofing of their first house in Limestone County on Brownsferry Road.
“This is just another opportunity for us to partner with the community as we work to serve this family who is in need of safe and affordable housing,” Jeremy Foulks, executive director of the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity, told The News Courier. “This is a great way for us to reintroduce ourselves into the community and build a solid network in Athens and Limestone County.”
The three day rapid-build event will be held from Thursday, Sept. 19, until Saturday, Sept. 21, at the home located at 532 Brownsferry Road.
According to Foulks, the event will not be in need of any volunteer workers. He did mention that the public is still welcomed to stop by and look at the progress the Carpenters for Christ are making on the home.
“We are so blessed to have them join us in this work. To have them do a project locally will be huge not just for us, but for the family as well.” Foulks said. “This will allow us to save resources and funding for future builds which we are in desperate need for in Limestone County.”
