POTOMAC PARK — Issac Growden drove in a pair and Cam Hook tossed a gem to lead Growden Heating and Cooling to a 7-3 win over Mettiki Coal in Hot Stove Senior Division action on Monday at Memorial Field.
Growden (1-1) scored two runs in the first and third innings and tacked on three in the sixth.
Jaxon Lowery, Levi Bowles, Growden and Hook had two hits each, and Growden doubled.
Hook earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs on four hits with nine strikeouts to three walks in six innings pitched. Christian Riley allowed a run in an inning of relief.
Peyton Shaffer singled and had two runs batted in for Mettiki. JD Nesselrodt took the loss on the mound.
Growden faces Northern Senior at Grantsville Park on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Mettiki Coal takes on American Woodmark on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Field.
Junior Division Bedford 13 Frankfort Junior 6
POTOMAC PARK — Bedford improved to 3-0 this summer with a five-inning romp of Frankfort Junior on Monday at Memorial Field
Elijah Lamb had two hits and three RBIs for Bedford, Blake Cragan scored three times, Broden Price singled twice and Gavin Wagoner had two runs batted in.
Lamb pitched 2 1/3 scoreless inning in relief to earn the win, striking out six.
A Laffey singled twice and A Weaver doubled. First names for Frankfort were not available online.
Frankfort Junior takes on the Cresaptown Eagles on Friday at 5 p.m at Memorial Field. Bedford is at Flintstone on Friday at 6 p.m.
Southern Junior 15 D&D Motors 5
OAKLAND — Southern scored 14 unanswered runs en route to a rout of D&D Motors in five innings at Southern High School.
Luke Lantz doubled for Southern, Zac Guthrie and Liam Bernard had two hits each, and Jake Zewatsky scored three times.
Zewatsky earned the victory on the bump, tossing four shutout innings of two-hit ball with five strikeouts and no walks.
Southern battled Outdoor Power on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Memorial Field.
D&D hosts Northern at Westmar Middle on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
