CLINTONVILLE — The deficit was too much for the Patriots to overcome.
The Bobcats jumped out to a 17-5 first quarter lead and used it to propel themselves to a 54-43 win over the host AuSable Valley.
The Patriots were able to close the gap and tie things in the third quarter, but were unable to grab the lead.
Calvin Magoon led NAC with 22 points as he spearheaded the Bobcat offense. Shane Gilmore added 13 points to the winning cause.
Deon Lawyer led AuSable with a team high 12 points.
“The patriots made a run to get the halftime score down to just a 6 point lead and eventually tied the game in the third quarter,” AVCS’s head coach Andrew Bombard said. “NAC’s size eventually wore us down.”
