TRAVERSE CITY — Green Bay rocked the Traverse City Pit Spitters for a walk-off win.
Max Humphrey blasted a two-rum home run to right field to give the Rockers a 7-5 win in Saturday’s matinee Northwoods League baseball game at Capital Credit Union Park in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Colton Roquemore (Dallas Baptist) drove in Adam Broski (Michigan State) with a second-inning groundout, and Nathanael Coupet (Georgia Tech) did the same in the third to score Grady Mee (Western Michigan).
Green Bay answered with a five-run barrage in the seventh, only for the Spitters to strike three times in the eighth.
Mee led off the eighth with a home run, Alfredo Velazquez (Michigan) came in on a Broski hit to right that was misplayed, and Broski came around on an error after stealing third.
Logan Pikur (Michigan State) threw a quality start, giving up only two hits across six innings. All seven Green Bay runs came against the bullpen.
Pikur hasn’t allowed a run in 15 innings this season over three starts.
The Spitters (9-10) and Rockers (10-9) play at 1:05 p.m. CST Sunday, with Jake Brown (Central Michigan) slated to start for Traverse City.
