NEWBURYPORT — The Greek Food Festival, sponsored by Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Newburyport at 7 Harris St., will take place Friday and Saturday, July 25-26, from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be indoor and outdoor seating as well as takeout available. Featured foods include gyros, lamb shanks, moussaka (eggplant), chicken and lamb kabobs, loucanico (Greek sausage), keftethes, (meatballs), spinach pie, pastichio (Greek lasagna) Greek salad, stuffed grape leaves and fish (plaki) on Friday only.
Favorite Greek pastries available will include baklava, kourembiethes (sugar cookies), koulourakia (butter cookies), rice pudding and galaktoboureko (a custard dessert).
There will be live Greek music by OPA Entertainment on Friday and Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. as Harris Street will be blocked off for dancing. Admission is free and Nicholson Hall at 7 Harris St. is air-conditioned.
