FROSTBURG — Frostburg State University has been awarded a five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education to continue its TRIO Student Support Services program, securing more than $2 million in funding to support first-generation and low-income students on campus.
The new grant cycle renews Sept. 1 and runs through Aug. 32, 2030, providing an annual budget of $412,173. Funds will be distributed to 275 students who qualify for the program.
FSU’s program, in operation for 52 years, offers academic advising, tutoring, financial aid guidance, study skills and time management development, career counseling, financial literacy and graduate school preparation.
