TRAVERSE CITY — County officials asked residents to use landlines or non-Verizon phones for non-emergency calls to Grand Traverse County as they navigate a phone service disruption affecting calls to County offices.
A statement Wednesday cited issue originates with Peninsula Fiber Network, the county’s local and long-distance telephone provider, stemming from an interconnect/tandem switch failure at a Verizon facility in Minnesota.
Officials asked residents to place calls via alternate carriers, email or visit the offices for in-person service.
