The greater Niagara region was unusually absent from the chase for Section VI hockey championships. But the area was represented well in postseason accolades.
Grand Island’s Ian Hannon was selected to Western New York’s Division II first-team All-Federation squad. The senior finished third in Western New York with 50 points, while ranking second in assists (29) and seventh in goals (21).
Grand Island goaltender Chris Swain, forward Ricky Kwarciak and defenseman Sully Korte were named first-team All-Niagara Frontier League. Niagara Wheatfield goaltender Nolan Hailey and forward Adam Perry were also selected to the first team.
Lockport/Niagara Falls forward Athan Bailor was also on the first team after leading WNY with 53 points and 28 goals. Kenmore East’s Troy Normandin rounded out the squad.
Lewiston-Porter’s Josh Steimer, Lockport/Niagara Falls’ Anthony Bernardi, Grand Island’s Trent Yoder, Niagara Wheatfield’s Carson Kaluzny and Nathan Dunn and Kenmore East’s Jacob Simpson made up the second team.
Starpoint had three players on the ECIC II first team. Goalie Nick Prezioso, forward Sam Prezioso and defenseman Brady Moeller were all honored. Defensemen Josh McLellan and Jaxson Schmidt were on the second team.
