Gloucester’s Brendan Burke, a track and field standout at St. John’s Prep, was among 30 SJP student-athletes who made commitments to compete at the collegiate level in a ceremony held at the school last week.
Burke will head to Bowdoin College to continue his budding athletic career.
He joined six other track and field stars from St. John’s in making his commitment.
“As a relay specialist, there aren’t many more competitive kids in the state than Brendan with a baton in his hand,” said Eagles’ coach Zach Lankow.
The other St. John’s Prep track and field athletes to make their commitments official included Tireni Asenuga (Holy Cross), Aithan Bezanson (Babson), Nick Elward (Babson), Nick MacDonald (Vassar), Will Pechinsky (Colorado College) and Andrew Vigneaux (Middlebury).
