PORT HENRY — Moriah jumped out to a 29-15 halftime lead and went on to record a 57-44 victory over Northern Adirondack in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference boys’ basketball on Wednesday night.
Logan Gilbo led the Vikings with 19 points and Cooper Allen followed with 18 points and a team-high 10 rebounds. Evan Fleury chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds.
Austin Lambert tossed in 13 points for the Bobcats and Calvin Magoon followed with 12 points. Patrick Benware added a team-high 15 rebounds.
“Gilbo played very well and we got ahead in the second and third quarters,” Moriah coach Brian Cross said. “But NAC never gives up and they got it to single digits late in the fourth quarter.

CHAMPLAIN — The Eagles got a balanced scoring attack and led from start to finish in a solid performance.
Steven Bronson tossed in 14 points for Beekmantown, while Michael Mannix added 12, Nate Parliament 10, Peyton Viau nine, Miguel Herrera nine and Leo Williams eight.
Jordan Brown’s 16 points paced the Cougars. Max Rabideau added 12 and Sam Prairie eight.
“Beekmantown came out strong from the start and never looked back,” NCCS coach Luke Connell said.
“We need to step up our defensive effort even when things are going well. We have a lot of work to do.”

PLATTSBURGH — The Hornets had four players score in double figures in their win over the Spartans.
Max Filosca and Cayden Williams finished with 16 points each, while Logan Rodriquez added 11 and Dan Hartmann 10.
Caron Duffield led Saranac with 12 points, while Lucas Pierce and Gabe Cayea each added eight.
“We were able to pressure them early and get a good lead,” PHS coach Chris Hartmann said. “But Saranac always battles back.
“We played better basketball tonight and it’s always nice to win your home opener. We are improving every week and I’m proud of our unselfish play.”
