The Georgia Department of Transportation proposes to amend the fiscal year 2025 portion of the fiscal year 2024-27 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program. The program is Georgia’s four-year transportation and capital improvements initiative. The program lists federally-funded transportation projects that are outside Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) boundaries.
This amendment is being done to re-demonstrate fiscal constraint for fiscal year 2025 and also to reflect any project phase changes that have occurred since the current program’s joint approval by the Federal Highway Administration and Federal Transit Administration on Oct. 20, 2023.
The Georgia Department of Transportation is also informing the public of projects awarded through various discretionary grants and those awarded by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the Eastern Federal Lands Highway Division that will be amended into an appendix of the current program for reference. Any public comments received for these projects will be shared with the project sponsor(s).
The comment period is open, and members of the public are encouraged to comment (https://www.dot.ga.gov/GDOT/Pages/STIP.aspx) through Monday. Members of the public are encouraged to share their thoughts on the materials included as part of the proposed fiscal year 2025 program amendment.
Submitted by the Georgia Department of Transportation.
