KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) released the Division II All-District teams on Tuesday.
Frostburg State’s Trey Simmons was named a first-team selection in the Atlantic District.
Simmons finished fifth in Division II with 24.2 points per game and ninth with 703 points scored.
He was in the top five in scoring average for most of the season.
His scoring average was higher than all but one of the 16 players named All-Americans.
Simmons set the single-season program record for total points, passing Christian Jackson’s 670 in 2013.
Simmons made the second-most free throws (165) and his scoring average is third-best in program history.
Simmons was also the Mountain East Conference’s Player of the Year, becoming the first Bobcat to win a conference player of the year award.
