BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Frostburg State was held to its lowest scoring output this season, dropping its conference opener at West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday 89-58.
Jenna Muha led the Bobcats (3-4, 0-1 Mountain East Conference) with 13 points, adding nine rebounds and a steal.
Ana Young scored a game-high 25 points for Wesleyan (2-1, 1-0 MEC), followed by Emma Witt (17), Avery Childers (13) and Sydney Baird (11).
Young shot 5 of 8 from deep and 10 of 14 from the field.
Frostburg heads to Davis & Elkins on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Harford 75 Allegany 44
CUMBERLAND — Allegany committed 39 turnovers which turned into 30 of Harford’s 75 points in a loss on Tuesday.
Danika Barnes led the Trojans (1-6) with 13 points, adding eight rebounds and two steals.
Nehir Safhan led the Fighting Owls with 19 points, followed by Ayca Kazak (16) and Amya Goodsell (15).
Goodsell added 10 rebounds and two steals.
The Trojans head to WVU Potomac State College on Monday at 5 p.m.
Montgomery 67 Garrett 57
COLUMBIA — Garrett trailed by four entering the fourth quarter, but was outscored 16-10 in the final frame, falling to Montgomery on Tuesday.
The Lakers (4-3) trailed by four after one quarter and led by six at halftime.
Da’shai Morton-Hall led Garrett with 14 points, adding seven rebounds and three steals.
Jameriah Butler scored 10 points with two steals.
Carly Wilt (Southern) added nine points, five boards and a steal.
Sanai Massenberg paced the Raptors (7-2) with 16 points, followed by Imani Dennis (15) and Tiana Carey (10).
Carey added six boards, four assists and two steals.
The Lakers host Howard next Thursday at 5 p.m.
Frederick 57 WVU Potomac State 48
FREDERICK — Potomac State was held to four points in the second quarter of Tuesday’s loss at Frederick.
The Catamounts (5-2) shot 1 of 8 from the field in the quarter while the Cougars (2-6) were 6 of 12 and scored 16 points.
Miya Harris and Mya Gilsan led Potomac State with 13 points each.
Gilsan added seven rebounds and a steal.
Ericka Zirk scored 12 points with four rebounds.
Frederick’s Trinity Lindblade scored a game-high 28 points with 10 rebounds and three steals.
Allegany College transfer Maylee Regan finished with 10 points, five rebounds and three assists.
The Catamounts host Anne Arundel on Saturday at noon.
