PRINCETON, W.Va. — The Frostburg State women scored a goal in each half and held Concord to just three shots on goal in a 2-1 win Sunday.
Carly Gillette gave the Bobcats (9-1-1 overall, 7-0-1 Mountain East Conference) a 1-0 halftime lead with an unassisted goal in the 41st minute.
Cassidy Paige pushed that margin to 2-0 with her first career strike in the 74th minute, and the cushion proved vital as Sydney Tucker got Concord a goal back a minute later but couldn’t make up the difference.
Allegany alum Katie Sterne made two saves in goal for Frostburg State, and Concord’s Maddie Loughborough was tasked with making three stops.
Frostburg State is at West Virginia State on Wednesday at 6 p.m
