FROSTBURG — Frostburg State rose to No. 22 in the American Football Coaches Association poll and entered the D2Football.com rankings at No. 25.
The Bobcats improved to 6-0 Saturday following a 41-9 rout of Glenville State.
It’s Frostburg State’s best start since joining Division 2 and its best overall since it began 10-0 in 2018. The Bobcats won their first five games in 2021 before a loss to then-No. 14 Notre Dame in Week 6.
Frostburg State debuted at No. 24 in the coaches poll last Monday.
The ranking sets up Frostburg State’s biggest game since becoming a D2 school on Saturday when it hosts No. 13/16 Charleston at 1 p.m. in its Homecoming game.
The two squads are currently tied for first in the Mountain East Conference with 4-0 marks along with West Virginia State.
