SALEM, W.Va. — Six Bobcats hit double figure scoring in Frostburg State’s 99-90 victory over Salem on Wednesday.
The Bobcats (7-8) trailed 30-19 with 8:42 left in the first half, but ended the half on a 25-17 run to cut the halftime deficit to 47-42.
Frostburg outscored the Tigers (4-11) in the second half 52-48.
Jaden Baker led the Bobcats with 21 points, also grabbing six rebounds,
Koby Baptiste recorded a double-double, scoring 18 points with 15 rebounds.
He grabbed eight offensive boards and added seven steals and five assists.
His seven steals are tied with six other players for the most in a single game in program history.
It’s the most for a Bobcat since Nick Smoot swiped seven in 2015.
Jayshaun Freeman and Eric Sondberg added 17 points each.
Sondberg shot 5 of 11 from deep while Freeman added five rebounds.
Chase Whippen and Justin Roseme both scored 11 points with three rebounds.
Daquan Coleman led all scorers with 24 points for Salem, adding three rebounds and two assists.
Kevin Constant scored 16 points with four rebounds while Jalen Barnes, Isaac James and Tyree Davis each scored 11.
The Bobcats host Point Park on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Potomac State 107 Allegheny County 53
PITTSBURGH — Wednesday’s game was nothing shy of dominant for WVU Potomac State College.
The Catamounts (8-8) led 52-19 at halftime and never looked back, cruising to a rout over Allegheny County.
Potomac State won the battle on the boards 52-22 and shot 44 of 82 (53%) from the field while holding the Wildcats (11-6) to 22 of 69 (32%).
Six Catamounts scored in double figures.
Camren Wilkes scored a game-high 26 points with nine rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Yanis Youbi recorded a double-double off the bench with 18 points and 15 rebounds.
Daniel Charlot finished with 16 points and nine rebounds while Cayden Faucett scored 15 with three rebounds and two assists.
Frankfort graduate Cam Layton and Eugene Bryant each scored 10 points.
Layton played in his third game of the season and returned to the floor for the first time since Nov. 16.
He hit a pair of triples and added an assist.
Bryant added seven rebounds, six assists, a steal and a block.
Josiah Gonzalez paced Allegheny County with 19 points in reserve, adding five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Kaleb Burge scored 12 points with a steal.
The Catamounts travel to Prince George’s on Saturday at 3 p.m.
No. 19 Howard 88 Garrett College 78
COLUMBIA — Garrett College took the No. 19 team in NJCAA Division II to overtime, but were outscored 18-8 in a loss on Wednesday.
Down 60-48 with 9:36 left in regulation, the Lakers (12-4, 7-2 Region 20) went on a 20-6 run and led 68-66 with 3:51 to play after Gavin Jackson hit a 3-pointer.
Carmello Myles scored on a tip-in with 54 seconds to play that put Garrett in front 70-68, but a Christian Dean layup with 33 seconds left took the game into overtime.
Five Lakers scored in double figures led by Marqui Olds’ 13 points off the bench.
Myles added 12 with nine rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block while Antonio Adams and Kam Heathington each scored 11 in reserve.
Gavin Jackson finished with 10 points, five rebounds and two steals.
Christian Dean led all scorers with 22 points for the Dragons (11-4, 6-2 Region 20), adding eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block.
Emanuel Henriques scored 20 points with eight rebounds, two steals and a block while Myles McDuffie scored 19 points with five assists and four rebounds.
Garrett heads to Chesapeake on Saturday at 3 p.m.
