MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — In a bullpen game for both teams, Millersville’s arms had the better day in an 8-5 win over Frostburg State on Wednesday.
Neither starter went more than two innings, but the Marauders (14-3) only needed four arms as Joe Morrisey went 5 1/3 innings in relief.
He allowed seven hits, two runs and a walk with six strikeouts.
The Bobcats (10-6) used seven pitchers that combined for eight hits, six earned runs and seven walks with five punchouts.
Ryan Bouma and Mikey Guy hit home runs for Frostburg.
Bouma’s came two batters into the game on a solo shot in the first while Guy went deep to lead off the eighth inning.
Bouma, Guy and Jackson Schalick each had a pair of hits with Bouma and Guy collecting a pair of RBIs.
Jimmy Kirk, Troy Chamberlin and Amani Jones each had two hits for the Marauders.
Frostburg hosts Charleston (W.Va.) for a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
Garrett 11, Quinsigamond 0
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Garrett College defeated Quinsigamond 15-2 on Monday.
The teams played again on Tuesday, and the Lakers (12-2) won another rout with a shutout.
Garrett scored in six of the seven innings highlighted by a four-run fourth.
Dariel Walker got the win in four innings, allowing one hit and four walks with three strikeouts.
Conner Blake, Logan Lowery and Ethan Kirkpatrick combined to throw the remaining three innings, allowing one hit with four punchouts.
Christian Harrington led the Lakers with three hits and two RBIs including a pair of doubles.
Bryce Madden (Allegany) and JJ Charlton (Hampshire) recorded two hits each.
Madden drove in two runs with a walk while Charlton hit two triples.
Garrett played the Apprentice School on Wednesday and heads to Anne Arundel for a doubleheader on Saturday at noon.
