FROSTBURG — Frostburg State athletes across three sports earned yearly awards this week.
Baseball’s Jackson Schalick and Zach Dodson each received ABCA/Rawlings All-Region honors.
Schalick was a first-team selection after earning All-Region and All-Mountain East Conference honors earlier.
He led the Bobcats in nearly every offensive statistical category and paced the MEC in RBIs (63) and doubles (19) while finishing top five in average (.378), slugging (.628) runs (58), hits (68) and home runs (8).
Dodson was named to the second-team after posting a 2.74 ERA in 46 innings, striking out 48 against 14 earned runs.
In men’s lacrosse, Ryder Walter was an honorable mention All-American by USILA (United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association).
Walter was already named a USA Lacrosse All-American and second-team All-ECC (East Coast Conference) selection.
He led Division II with 66 caused turnovers and led the Bobcats with 78 ground balls.
Acrobatics and Tumbling produced the program’s second All-American in Alicia Mansaray.
She was a second-team selection by NCATA (National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association).
She was a first-team All-MEC selection.
Kaitlyn Green was an All-Academic selection, earning a 4.0 GPA in the Recreation, Parks and Sport Management program.
Frostburg also had 17 members on the NCATA Academic Honor Roll, recognizing student-athletes with a 3.30 or higher GPA.
The list includes Allegany High graduates Delayni Clark and Kamryn O’Neal.
Morgan Bopp, Emily Brooks, Melanie Brown, Mikaela Ellis, Ashtyn Evans, Ryan Fisk, Kaitlyn Green, Ella Joseph, Callie Miller, Eleanor Ohngren, Caitlin Perry, Ani Sabounjian, Abigail Shifflett, Joanna Welch and Grace Whaley also qualified.
