The Friends of Rogers’ Environmental Education Center annual paddle trip will take place Saturday, July 13, from 8:45 a.m to 2 p.m.
According to a news release, this year’s destination is Nine Mile Swamp, a historic local site (hideout of the Loomis Gang, notorious horse thieves in the mid-19th century) that is also known for its natural beauty.
The paddle, at a location near Hubbardsville, is described in the release as an “easy-going paddle is perfect for beginners and experienced paddlers alike.” Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Pricing is as follows:
Bring your own boat: $15/member; $20/general admissionBorrow a FOR kayak: $25/member; $30/general admissionBorrow a FOR canoe: $30/member; $35/general admission

Friends of Rogers Environmental Education Center Inc. is a nonprofit organization that offers environmental education programs for people of all ages and abilities. The Visitor Center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, other times by appointment.
The mission of the Friends of Rogers, accordingb to the release, “is to provide outstanding educational opportunities that excite, inspire, and motivate people of all ages to enjoy, understand, appreciate, and protect our natural environment.”
