BOYS LACROSSE
Everest Academy 14, Pingree 9: Playing against the second ranked high school team in Canada, the Highlanders (now 2-4) were tied going into the fourth quarter before their guests pulled away. Captain Sean Stevens had four goals and an assist for Pingree, putting him two points shy of 100 for his career. Bodie Cannata added three scores, with Dylan Feeks (goal, assist), Jake Hiltz (goal), and Matt Tersolo (assist) also finding their way into the scorebook. Captain Max Becker made 14 saves in net.
Newburyport 12, Essex Tech 6: Playing their fourth game in five days, the Hawks were winning at halftime (3-1) before the Clippers took advantage of some fourth quarter penalties to grab the win. Goaltender Damian Biersteker had 23 saves for Essex Tech (4-2), including 11 on 12 first half shots. Fisher Gadbois (3 goals, 2 assists), Timmy Tavares (2 goals), Dominic Tiberii (goal, assist) and Enzo DeLuca (assist) led their squad offensively.
Manchester Essex 18, Hamilton-Wenham 2: The Generals fell to 0-4 with a Cape Ann League road setback, with the Hornets racing out to a 10-0 halftime lead on their own turf.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Bishop Fenwick 17, Georgetown 6: Hannah Bettencourt scored five times and Breanna Genzale had four with one assist to power the Crusaders. Kiley Bloom also a five point game with a hat trick and two helpers, Allison Doherty scored twice and Lauren Woods, Ruby Cahill and Caroline Lapalme potted one each. Goalie Courtney Mackenzie was credited with seven saves.
Newburyport 18, Essex Tech 4: Janelle Dalton had two goals for the Hawks and Olivia Isidro and Gabby Addie scored one each.
COLLEGE BASEBALLWestfield State 11, Salem State 5: E.J. Field hit a solo homer but the Vikings (11-8) fell behind 10-0 and couldn’t recover despite totaling up 10 hits. James Dolan had a team-high three base knocks and Owen Duggan drove in a pair of runs.WOMEN’S COLLEGE LACROSSEWestfield State 18, Salem State 4: Kenzie Currey scored twice and teammates Kaia Hollingsworth and Jenna Wells also connected, but it wasn’t enough to lift Salem State (now 2-9).
