Peabody 35, Lynn Classical 19: After falling behind 14-0 by allowing touchdown passes of 92 and 74 yards, the Tanners (3-1) clamped down defensively and put together 35 unanswered points to get back in the win column. Senior Caio Santos ran for a career-high 108 yards and a touchdown while junior QB Luke Maglione accounted for four total scores, tossing TD passes to Doryln Morel (18 yards) and captain Jacye Jean-Pierre (27 yards) while scooting in for rushing scores of 9- and 45 yards. Peabody had a 15-14 lead by halftime and outscored the Rams 20-0 in the second half; Aneudy Espinal had a key interception for Peabody.
Bishop Fenwick 42, Wilmington 6: Brayden Clifford threw a pair of touchdown passes and Lincoln Dugan scored twice to help the Crusaders remain unbeaten at 3-0 with a romp. Odin Garron took an interception back for a score to punctuate an excellent defensive effort for Fenwick while Dylan Patturelli and Craig Masone also crashed into the end zone.
Newburyport 48, Essex Tech 21: The Hawks got blitzed in the first half, falling behind 41-7, and couldn’t dig out of that hole as the Clippers earned their first win in emphatic fashion. Quarterback Jacoby Casinelli-Tarasuik ran for 77 yards and a pair of scores for Essex Tech (1-2), with Makaio Bey returning a kickoff 80 yards for another touchdown.
Melrose 34, Swampscott 27: Touchdowns by Henry Beuttler and Nekaylen Davis in the third quarter put the Big Blue ahead 21-14, but visiting Melrose scored the next three touchdowns to take control. Jon von Barta found Jay Domelowicz with a short touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to make it a one score ballgame, but Swampscott (2-2) was unable to tie things up on its final drive.
Lynnfield 42, Ipswich 0: The Tigers were overmatched against the Cape Ann League Baker favorites.
North Reading 35, Hamilton-Wenham 6: The Hornets pulled away late as the Generals remained winless on the season.
