Summer is winding down and kids and families are getting ready to return to classes. Celebrate the start of another school year with Friday at the Crossroads Back to School event Aug. 2.
Everything kicks off at 4 p.m. in downtown Crossville. Downtown businesses and vendors will have lots of fun and specials for the festival.
The Chop Shop, 296 West Ave., will once again be offering free haircuts for school-age kids. No appointments are necessary, but haircuts are first-come, first-served. Parents, help the stylists keep things moving by having the kids’ hair clean and brushed with a cut or style picked out.
While you wait, enjoy music and games and pick up a backpack and school supplies while they last.
There will be fun for all ages.
Find bounce houses at the Cumberland County Courthouse Lawn. Visit with the Stone Memorial Middle School Cheerleaders and get a temporary tattoo for the kids. The United Fund will share information about their partner nonprofits and invite the kids to have some fun with a basketball toss game.
