Following an unbeaten regular season and a trip to the class AAA championship game, Frankfort dominated the All-Potomac Valley Conference awards, which were revealed Monday.
The Falcons, who finished 29-2 and were state runner-ups, won the team championship. Frankfort pitcher and infielder Avery Noel was Player of the Year, and its coach, Kim Root, was Coach of the Year.
Noel, signed to Liberty University, tallied a .533 batting average, 13 home runs, two triples, 15 doubles, 40 RBIs and 49 runs at the plate.
In the circle, the senior right-hander went 13-0 and registered a 1.00 ERA. Noel struck out 147 and walked 20 in 84 innings.
Joining Noel on the first team were Frankfort teammates Tayler Likens and Rylee Mangold, Keyser’s Bibs Felton, Brielle Root and Leighton Johnson, Moorefield’s Carlee Haines and Gracie Simmons, Hampshire’s Ava Call and Berkeley Springs’ Alaira Harrington.
The second team was made up of Adison Pritts, Raley Nestor, Aubrie Root and Claire Westfall (Frankfort); Ivy and Edie Bromhal (Keyser); CiCi Kump and Kerigan Bergdall (Moorefield); Bri Cosner (Hampshire) and Molly Boyles (Berkeley Springs).
