CUMBERLAND — Fort Hill revealed its 2026 football schedule in a X (Twitter) post on Wednesday, rounding out its nine-game schedule with a Week 2 meeting with Belmont Charter, Pennsylvania.
The Sentinels are coming off a 9-4 season and a fifth consecutive trip to the Class 1A title game.
Fort Hill lost to Patuxent 35-28 in Annapolis, ending a four-year run as Class 1A champions.
The Sentinels will play four true home games, all in a row.
The season opens at Northern on Friday, Sept. 4 at Half-Mile High Stadium.
Fort Hill won 27-0 and 42-0 in two regular season meetings last season.
A new opponent opens the home slate on Friday. Sept. 12 as the Sentinels face Belmont.
The Tigers of Philadelphia went 10-2 last season and finished as semifinalists in Pennsylvania’s Class 1A.
This will be the first meeting between Fort Hill and Belmont.
The home stand continues with three consecutive games against Southern (4-6), Hollidaysburg (Pa.) and Bridgeport (WV).
The Sentinels beat Southern 49-12 before losing 35-30 at Hollidaysburg and 49-14 at Bridgeport.
Hollidaysburg finished 13-1 and quarterfinalists in Pennsylvania’s Class 5A while Bridgeport went 11-1 and were quarterfinalists in West Virginia’s Class AAA.
After a bye week to end September, Fort Hill begins a three-game road trip against Mountain Ridge (5-6) on Oct. 9.
The Sentinels won 62-0 in last season’s matchup in the most lopsided game in series history.
North Hagerstown (6-5) and Smithsburg (4-6) round out the road stretch.
Fort Hill beat North Hagerstown 48-6 and Smithsburg 56-6 last fall.
The 106th Homecoming game is Saturday, Oct. 31 against Allegany.
The Sentinels won 57-13, scoring all 57 in the first half and setting a new Homecoming or Turkey Day record.
