POTOMAC PARK — Flintstone overcame a late deficit and Noah Swadley scampered home on a wild pitch for a walk-off 6-5 win over the Cresaptown Eagles to win the Mountain League Baseball Junior Division championship on Friday at Memorial Field.
Flintstone (15-1) trailed 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth before Brock Divelbiss touched home on a passed ball.
Cresaptown (16-4), which trailed 4-1 early, tied the game in the top half of the sixth, scoring on a wild pitch of its own.
Brody Norris singled twice for Flintstone, Norris, Weston Twigg and Carson Williams drove in runs, Jaxton Pearce doubled, and Divelbiss scored twice.
Twigg was the winning pitch in relief, giving up a run on three hits in 3 1/3 frames of work, striking out four and walking three.
Cory Vizza scored twice for Cresaptown, which was held to four hits, all singles. Grayson Long took the loss in relief despite a solid outing in which he gave up two runs on three hits in 4 1/3 frames.
